Nine in the Afternoon
Well, there it is. My blog is officially set up. Took me a while with a lot of twists and turns, but I did it! Hopefully, I’ll be able to update this periodically.
Writing has always been something I liked doing. I was never able to put it to use, though… People have recommended that I pursue an English degree, but I don’t think I’m ready yet. I like to write when things come to me, not when I’m made to do it.
Either way, all those years will be going into this. Hello world! It’s 10:15 PM. Here is my stream of consciousness (no pun intended):
My old attempt at a blog was on Neocities. Tried to teach myself HTML/CSS, but I wasn’t very good at it. But, it wasn’t bad for my first attempt, don’t you think? I basically rebranded over here. I’ve always been good at markdown, not coding. I don’t particularly like the setup of social media for pouring thoughts out. There’s always the feeling of being watched by those who are against you. I want someplace to talk about my life that’s away from prying eyes. Besides you, of course, reader.
I’m currently saving money for my girlfriend’s visit in December. It’s been hard without her. I miss her so greatly. But the good news is that it won’t be long now until she’s here for good. We plan to move in together by the end of the year.
I honestly never thought I’d make it this far in life. I have always been so incredibly nihilistic. I thought I’d die before I even finished high school. It’s surreal, in a good way. I think a year ago, I would’ve said it’s surreal in a bad way.
A lot has changed since I turned 20 years old. I think I’ve slowly become a better person. I’d honestly say I’ve become a completely different person. And that would be no exaggeration.
The old “Motherboard” host was a timid little girl. She wasn’t able to defend herself. Nobody defended her, either. It makes me sad, thinking that she was so vulnerable, lost and alone, with nobody there for her. Isolation kills. It almost did.
I don’t remember much, but I was told that when she awoke, she was asked if she wanted to speak to that person. Apparently, she said, No!, and was terrified.
Up until now, everyone we have loved, we were terrified of. But, not anymore. And that makes me really happy.
For once in my life, I am hopeful for the future. I think good things are in reach, and they are. It has changed every day for me. Of course, there are times when I struggle, but that just comes with how I was brought up. What would younger me say if I could see them now? Would they be happy? Sad? Confused?
Realistically… I think they’d be too busy playing Minecraft.
Well. That’s all I’ve got for now! I’m hungry, so I’m going to get some food and get ready for work tomorrow.
Ack! My laundry!
